PC my swag is the basic open ended swag with a 3" matters it sure isn't the most portable but it is damn comfortable when I got mine he talked me out of getting the insect netting told me it doesn't last rots etc
when my Father got his it was the complete opposite story his has the fibreglass rods and is basicly a mini tent they are both good swags
I would recommened hanging any new swag on a cloths line and giving it a good watering it really softend mine up

I gave up on Swags a few years ago and now use a goretex bivvy- keeps the snakes and spiders out and also you do not drown in condensation.

Also takes up less room in the vehicle.
