I am so very sorry for your countryman, gentlemen. Sometimes this land of the free and home of the brave is also the home of scum that shame us all.
I can't imagine what kind of parents these kids have.

Very unfortunate, media here will use it to push for why all guns should be banned.

We feel blown away here. One of my sons played baseball with Chris (same team) as a kid and his mother and sister taught my daughter ballet.

Where kids get pistols does concern me, though, TP.

Boredom? May that be the lifelong fate of whoever did this.

I read news headlines from news media from different parts of the world, and I am left amazed at what people do to each other, for no reason whatsoever.

And the laws do not seem to be any deterrent either.

Talking with a friend here, I think we should go back to the old saying "a tooth for a tooth, and eye for an eye".

In which case, I propose we let these three walk free, and gun the bastards down.

In the UK last week was a report of two thugs beating a man at a bus stop to death.

For no reason either.

In this case, I suggest they get precisely the same treatment.

Gang bangers, it looks like - well if they do end up in jail, they're not going to like it one little bit.

unfortunately, everyone in this world is capable of terrible things if we don't think right.
And how little it takes for some people to go from thought to action, no matter how evil it can be.
So sad in this case and where is our president ?
Oh, gun control again.
Absolutely right Saeed, tooth for tooth even in so called "civil society"

According to the man who saw the car in a car park and called the cops, none of the three boys had a father in his life. This seems to be a familiar theme: ie boys need the old man to draw lines in the sand.

I am so incredibly sorry that this terrible tragedy took place.
As a parent of 2 sons, I cannot even imagine the pain his family & friends are going through.
I was raised with guns in the house & had access to certain ones even as young as 11.
My sons were raised the same way.
My wife & I taught them right from wrong & that wrong doing brought about severe consequences.
Therefore, we never had any problems out of them & they turned out to be very good men.
It's not the guns doing the evil deeds, it's evil people.
Remember, Cain slew Abel with a rock.
Evil people will always find a way to carry out their plans.
Those 3 cannot be killed dead enough for me.
Again, my apology's for the killing of an innocent young man, no matter where he may call home.

So sick & so sad.

Well ... these teens are kids of parents who themselves probably did not have good parenting. We see that around the world now - 2nd & 3rd generation delinquents!

When the system is broken like this, who take responsibility for fixing it?

An absolute tragedy and a meaningless and wasteful loss of life, of that there's no doubt.

For your information, an appeal was set up to raise money to allow Chris's parents to travel to the US to bring his body home. That appeal had a target of $15,000, and as of today, the amount raised is in excess of $120,000.

You do an adult crime, you are an adult. Fry em!
Upstanding looking lot are they not? These type of vermin need to be eliminated from society one way or the other. If not the death penalty, and that certainly fits here IMHO, life without chance of parole. Should be at hard labor too. It is prison not a country club. Cruel and unusual punishment? In todays society yes! That said, it is exactly what is called for in cases like this. where is our president now? Oh yea he is still going on about his pretend son Travon. I notice he never says a word about something like this though. why is that I wonder?

I for one am sick and tired of the low lifes having more rights than the rest of us.

G'Day Fella's,

Bill, Thank You for your thoughts and kind words!

A sad situation that I don't have an answer for but what ever we have been doing, obviously isn't working! Time for a change???
These three perps are all juveniles, so they shouldn't have had access to a registered handgun?

The thing we need to start putting back on the Gun Grabbers (and then holding them responsible for the next violent act), is we have been implementing tighter Gun Control measures but that isn't fixing the problem!
Tighter Gun control measures is only treating the Symptoms, not the actual Cause of the problem, eg it's not How these criminals are Killing other people, it's Why are they killing others that needs to be addressed!
As has been mentioned above, in this instance this might be the next step along from Violent Video Games and Movies . From Virtual Reality, to Reality!!!

Doh!

Crazy world, but unfortunately it's been the violent world since cave man days. Simply put, eye for an eye. Rehabilitation? Dream on. Public hanging in Washington square on Prime time might help.
When do we get it?

One of my problems is with the court and penal system. They will get tried and even if they get the death penalty it won't be carried out for many years. I think 24 hours after conviction they should be hanged on the courthouse steps at high noon in full view of the public. No black hood over the faces. At least these won't do it again.

Tasco, I just saw that about the old vet, too. Here's a beloved old gent who took a Japanese bullet for the free world on Okinawa, and two punks murder him outside the Eagles Lodge in Spokane.
At least he wasn't a fine young man cut down in his prime, but it is still another senseless tragedy.

tasco 74,

This isn't a race thing. It's a sh*t for brains issue. You may not like Obama but I feel the comment is unfair and only provides fuel for the press to portray us as rednecks.

It matters not their race, colour or religion this is a senseless violent act and shouldn't be sidetracked into an attack on race, religion or politics.

These three b*stards need 90 days on death row to think about it and then they should be hung.

Then do the same with the next 50-100 sh*theads that do the same. Maybe that would get through to the next three bored kids who want to perpetrate such a crime.

They also need to be portrayed as the cowards that they are..shooting an unarmed "non combatant".

Kids or not they did an adult crime now they should recieve an adult penalty.

The perpetrators of senseless crime need removing from the gene pool. This would solve the issue of generations of degenerates.......at least in some cases.

The only way to stop crime is to improve the chances of catching the criminal and to penalise the criminals adequately.

Soft handling these people is not working.

Why keep a "lifer" in jail when they have no chance of rehabilitation. It's a waste of tax dollars and of no benefit to society.

Having happened on some snuff pornography on the Old West put out by a respected American publisher 40 years, I can imagine the aversion therapy Boarkiller thinks a public hanging might bring. (Early photographers loved hangings, lynchings and dead outlaws - the only subjects still enough for the long exposures.)

Counter-intuitively, however, criminologists seem to have found the opposite to be true - that murders actually increase when criminals are executed. Certainly, the homicide rate has declined in Australia since hangings ended here about 1967.

Can't be sure, but I doubt whether Chris's poor mother would want to attend one.

As to another media push to ban guns, I haven't seen one here this time. I suspect the papers have given up on any likelihood of handguns ever being banned in the US. The Greens have put forward a ban on "automatic" pistols as part of their election policies, of course, but I don't know that it has anything to do with this particular murder.

This act made no sense. They are young, but old enough to have more logic than this. Most do at their age. Death sentence immediate, they lag too far to ever catch up. The Major at Ft Hood that did all the killings is still drawing pay and refused to shave and is on trial with a beard. BS, that judge is an officer appointed over him and thus should have the authority to get him shaved. I'd bet Ft Hood is full of NCO'S that would volunteer to shave him. I didn't say carefully shave him I just said shave him.
