For everything great we have encompassing hunting in New Zealand we also, very sadly, lawfully permit certain "hunting" behaviour that could only be described as the lowest form possible.
Watching this video I'm embarrassed to know that "hunt" happened in our country.

Hunting.... it's not everything, it's the only thing.

I suppose it is no different than say drugs and child abuse, when there's a market there will always be suppliers. They are not hunters, not sure what you would call them, idiots maybe, it is the guide who is the supplier of that low form of shooting (not hunting).

Embarrassing agree but then so is some of the African hunting we see on video, bumbling, back slapping yahoos many too fat and unfit to get out of their own way.

The 'trophy' pics with the hovering chopper in the background reminded me of the blokes posing with their Sambar stag with the truck in the background with the spotlight attached to the roof.
Those blokes hazing the Tahr with a chopper need to lose their licences to fly and to guide.
Dont you love the way they strop the tahr up to fly it to a scenic location for the pics....as usual.

This is so bad I found it quite funny! The Asian gentleman didn't even know how to work the bolt on the rifle. In the 1970s I used to hunt Thar with an open sighted 303 trying to get close enough for a shot before the choppers came up and wiped out the whole mob in front of my eyes.
Now I'm geriatric and not so broke I'm perfectly happy for a chopper to lift me up to the snow but perhaps not with those fellas for company!

Wow! I watched something today that basically said there were no seasons, tag allocations, etc. in NZ, due to the fact that there’s no natural predators. So, basically, there is a serious need for hunting, but I guess that leads to shit like this. Too bad. That said, I’ve seen similar videos from here in the states.

Yep, we are in the position that largely, we need to kill more.
That does not mean we should be putting gun in the hands of people who clearly dont know how to use one though, and we do need some form of respect for our quarry.
