Nitrox Have you tried Procal in Victoria? Peter normally has quite a bit of unusual stuff. Otherwise I would buy from www.grafs.com

Definately buy from OS, sorry to say but unless you can find a second-hand set most of our stores here will charge you a premium. Try Grafs (US$48.99 Hornady dies but out of stock or RCBS for $51 and in stock) or CH/4D. Cheers... Con

John, I have both RCBS and Hornady dies in 9.3x74R - I'd sell you one of these except that my plan has always been to build up a supply of ammo and reloading gear in Zim and one of these sets is destined for that job next visit (I already have a Brno M21 7x57 and stockpiles of 7x57, 9.3x74R, .375H&H and .470 ammo there!!!). However, I'll ask around a few of the Sydney gunshops for you. I am sure that Safari Firearms would be able to get them and Western Firearms might even have them on the shelf. Will let you know. John, I've asked at both Safari and Western Firearms and neither have 9.3x74R in stock but can get them in either Redding, RCBS or Hornady. The bad news is that these are all special order dies and the price will start around $140 for the Hornady and more for the others. You might also keep an eye on Ebay (US) under the heading of Reloading in the Sporting Goods area - I have seen quite a few sets of 9.3x74R dies on there and the price has been quite reasonable, i.e. under $USD50. Thanks for your help Bob. *** Anyone Is there any export and import documentation required on buying dies and a shellholder from the USA. I thought the law had changed in the USA recently ???

Bob, Just goes to show the mark-ups being asked by Australian importers, and let me guess... the "special" order will take 3 months (whilst it'll be shipped with their regular order no doubt). Freight will cost them nothing, dies are double the standard dies in $US dollars, so triple the price in $AUD dollars. No export issues with dies or any other "hand tool" which is what Grafs will declare them as usually. Email Grafs, they're great to deal with! Cheers... Con

No changes for reloading tools [no permits etc. required]. The most recent change at the US end was the removal of the informal 'export license exemption' for small [<1000pcs IIRC] orders of cartridge components. I'll second the Grafs recommendation. But get them to post, not courier, the stuff to you, especially if you happen to order a few more things. Courier shipments cop ~$73 extra in Government charges [Customs & GST] as soon as the landed cost [goods+freight/insurance] tops AU$250. By post you pay GST only if landed cost is over $500, and the Customs entry fee only if it's over $1000. Cheers, Doug

I just tried Grafs for the brass order and they informed me they no longer can export ammo components overseas. But the dies were still OK to do. Any suggestions from anyone on a source for 9.3x74R brass in Australia or online say in Europe?

Pleased to post ALREADY that two Australian gunshops did the business: After getting a considerable run around from a number of shops who ranged from no idea of what a 9.3mm was to it would take a eon to post it, Frank O'Reilly Sports came through with both Norma brass and Woodleigh projectiles. Cheers to Fran O'Reilly Sports (and Dean the sales person) for stocking a range of products and good service. Also Rebel Gunworks and the salesperson David for stocking Nosler 9.3mm 250 gr Ballistic Tips. Cheers!

In the States Lock, Stock have been willing to ship ammo components to me in Australia. Last time I did this was only 2 months ago. I'll second Ebay for dies, depending on how long you can wait. I just bought NIB RCBS 348 Win dies for us$27. Best retail price was over $40. Oh, and also a second cheer for Frank O'Reily's. RWS 9.3x62 ammo for $48. Cheaper than in Europe!

John, I f you cannot find it at Procal, O'Reillys, or Rebel, then you will probably have to go O/S for it. However if you have troubl with odd sizes brass, keep Bertram's in Seymour, Vic, in mind. With O'Rielly's, their prices are usually great! 7x57R norma, for $28 a box! With your 9.3, try the Speer 270 gr, for plinking/medium game, a lot cheaper than anything else on the market! Cheers, Dave. Cheers, Dave. Aut Inveniam Viam aut Faciam.

Dave I use Bertrams in my .450 the only source for it other than Horneber. Might get some Bertrams too just as a comparison and test them out against the Norma's I bought.

John, There are some 9.3x74R dies on the classified forum at the moment. They were listed by Yuman on the 19th of June. Bob "White men with their ridiculous civilization lie far from me. No longer need I be a slave to money" (W.D.M Bell) www.cybersafaris.com.au
