Its the not fun camping. Nights on piquet, days doing wiring and sandbagging with a Crash Ex thrown in. Bloody tired. What did I miss? So who's out there hunting?

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Piquet? I haven't played that since my Grandmother passed away.
She taught me how to play it when I was too young to refuse.

Piquet is to stand watch. 1.5 hours in the gun pit and half an hour on radio piquet. Then of course as soon as you go back to your hootchie to sleep the enemy attacks Roll Eyes Big Grin.

OK, piquet has to be an Australian term.
In the UK it's picket.

Not a lot of time left weather wise in the year Bakesy. These last couple of warmer days are a portent of what's to come soon. You might have to get out there again before the heat hits us all.

Won't get a chance to get out until late October. I'm joining Saeed on Safari this year.

Is it worthwhile summer hunting?

Not really,if you shoot for meat then you deal with blowies and heat.(joe blakes too)
Hunting for antlers isn't much chop either. Often in velvet stages.

All good mate. I may sneak out for a look at some areas and such. But I'm happy to put away the rife and pick up the rods. Smiler

Late hunting doesn't look good this year but in the wet of 2022 our late Nov hunt was the only one that didn't get washed out. The blowies on the dead deer were horrendous, though, but they come even in winter.

Tell us about your safari!

Spoke to Alan last night.

He tells me his new concession is great!

You will probably do more hunting in 3 weeks there than you do in a whole year Down Under!

By the way, brush up on your BBQ skills.

Walter is no longer with us, sadly, so you and Chris will have to do something useful for a change! clap
