Nags are feral horses - also known as brumby's. They exist in large numbers in some parts of the country and are responsible for much soil erosion due to their sharp, non cloven hooves. They also do considerable damage to waterways, dams and fences and for this reason are not liked by the property owners.

I have no idea about their blood lines, heritage etc.

Cheers.

Don't want to sound ignorant here, but why shoot a horse? Are they wild game in Australia or problem animals? Do you like the taste of horse meat? Is it a trophy? I'm just curious.

ShyJacker,
Little of both old mate... Problem animals in some areas and a few guys I know don't mind eating them Smiler I often shoot them to bait up pigs or to fill the freezer for the dogs.
