GG375 is the one to answer this one mate. He lives in Weipa. From the pics he's posted the teeth on the Weipa boars are on the WOW side of big. It seems the body size is smaller than NT boars however. I don't believe Buff are there, only scrub bull.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Mate, a really good guy in Far North Queensland if you are interested in a boar and scrub bull hunt to talk to is Alan Moon of Alan Moon Safaris and Videos.

I haven't hunted with him, but he is a mate from NitroExpress.com. And I do want to hunt with him one day soon.

I've "cut and pasted" the following from NitroExpress.com for your benefit.

As Bakes said, I think the water buff did not make it to Cape York in any hunting numbers.

Alan may be able to make a trip to NT for you as well.

In years gone by, there were some buffalo on Cape York but there weren't many and the Qld government exterminated them. There are, however, plenty of scrub bulls.

Bwana Bob and I went up to Weapa to check out the hunting fishing scene a couple of years ago. Pigs, Red Scubbers. Not a buff. Great Fishing. Lots of fun and info. Good bird shooting if you can get onto indiginis land.

I hunted hogs in the area a few years back and it was one of the best hunts I have had. 11 boars in 3 days......and in a drier time of year could have doubled that. My outfitter hunted Strathmore Station but he is no longer doing that work. If you find a good chap you will have a great time. thumb

Pigs in Cape York are a bit light on the ground currently. They had a few years of drought followed by 2 cyclones causing major floods this year.
Add to this the fact that the government culling operation had $300K in chopper time this year plus AQIS [Quarantine] testing has severely dropped the numbers.
Many properties also poison as well.
