Feeling a little chuffed at the moment. I've been doing a running program my mate put me onto (Couch to 5km app) and today I got up to running 20 minutes straight (25 minutes over all). Now that doesn't sound like much but those that know me well, know how much I HATE running. I don't think I've ever run for 20 minutes in one hit.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Good to hear, good to do a little exercising now and then.

By the way, since YOU know the things I've been dealing with the last four years.
This past week I've been shoveling dirt, hauling it and filling a big hole behind my shop that was dug out for building the wall. First real work I've done in over 4 years. Sure enjoying it, but, sure don't have the stamina at it like I used to. Think you'll like hearing this Tony.

Here's a funny story. Had a teenaged step dau. that refused to do what I was trying to say then flipped me off. I started toward her and she took off running. I chased her down, think she was 15 then. Anyway, she told it around that: "Porgy can really haul ass". Wish I could run again, enjoyed doing it quite a bit.
Take it easy on those old man's knee's though mate.

George

G'Day Fella's,

Good to hear Bakes and George!
Personally, I prefer to walk carrying a Back Pack, of varying weight.

Word of advice for those Old Man Knees, I eat a SMALL hand full of Walnuts each day.
Also, Bush Walking type Walking Sticks, are a great help when walking down steep hills/Mtns. They can also be used as a Shooting Rest for taking a shot with your rifle!

Keep at it fella's, it makes life easier and so much more enjoyable!!!

Doh!

G'Day Fella's,

Bakes, one of the best ways to get NZ Sth Island (etc) fit is a bicycle! You need "Legs and Lungs" for that and riding a bike, is a good way to achieve this.

Hope that helps

Homer:

I like walnuts, and nuts of many kinds.
Trouble is, they don't digest thru just the small intestines, takes the colon to do that. and I don't have one now. so they plug up the exit hole and create big problems now. I miss eating nuts.

For knee's I take 4-5 Glucosamine pills each morning. Wrecked 'em Aug '70, am still on my own joints because of those pills and getting the Synvisc shots when they start hurting. Amazing what this stuff can do, or prevent.

Hmm, Homer, just noticed: My dau is in Conder.

Thanks guys,
George

G'Day George,

Small world hey!
Yes, I'm in Weston Creek probably 15 minutes away from Conder. Your Daughter has Good Taste in places to live (Canberra)!

Let your addy leak a bit and I might knock on your door too! IF I get there.

Sure glad I'm doing better these days. Let a guy use the crapper yesterday. Two hours later wasn't any water in the bowl, and none would pass thru the filler unit. Ended up pulling the toilet up, deck under it has needed replaced several years. Am doing that now. All day just getting the 2'x3' deck ripped out and cleaned up. Ol George builds things so they're never supposed to be taken apart! Man I pay the price when I have to do it!

Today, I got the new cement board cut and put in, just two pieces of tile to cut/fit and glue in place, then coving around the edges then put the business end back in place.

Never figured it'd turn into a three day ordeal just to replace the deck and filler! Damn!

Before mid June I couldn't have done it at all.

George

I hate running!

And at 66, it is not getting any better.

But, I do a lot of walking.

Two years ago, a friend suggested that I keep track of my walking.

I have a sports band - Garmin Vivofit HR - and I use a sports watch when out hiking.

So last year I kept track of my progress.

Ended 2015 by walking 3,583 kilometers - would have been more, but we walked relatively little while on safari.

We only did about 230 Ks last year in Tanzania.

We have had occasions when we did 400 in a year's hunt.

The past 8 month's average has been 305 Ks a month.

Walter gets mad at me, saying "sit still for a moment! I get dizzy just watching running about!"

More incentive to move even more as it annoys Walter clap

G'Day Fella's,

Saeed, they say if you don't Use It you'll Lose It! So you are definitely doing your bit.
But Saeed, what temperatures are you walking in man? As UAE can be/is a Bloody HOT country!!!

It's not just great a way to get and stay Physically fit, I find it a great way of De-Stressing and relaxing.
I also do a lot of problem solving while I'm walking, in fact, that is where I worked out some of the more complex "How Too's" of my patented suppressor design.

Apart from July and August, I walk here in Dubai.

We have a fantastic walking path not far from my house. It is right on the beach.

I also make it point to walk wherever we go.

Like the forrest in Sweden, beach in France or the mountains in Europe.

I also have a gym at home, and use the treadmill.

G'Day Fella's,

Roger that Saeed!
Yes, I'm the same with my walking but the locations I travel to Saeed, are not quite as exotic as yours.

LOL!
