Wipeout also does the trick on Cosmoline.I sqiuired some into the magazine of a SMLE No 4 that I recently bought and the cosmoline just ran out like water. Bakes, Do not get this stuff on your woodwork! It will strip the finish and stain the wood. rob

I'm also a WipeOut convert, simply amazing stuff. I've found that leaving it overnight is great but dry patching and then following with a scrub 24 hours later using a nylon brush with Sweets raises even more copper from a seemingly clean bore. Cheers... Con
Damn you guys. Now I'm going to have to buy some. Lucky I know who stocks some here in Brisbane. I'll be in there tomorrow before you lot guess where it is. I am sure they have at least two tins.

Guys, Has anyone using Wipeout tried modifying the delivery nozzle? Hate wasting such good stuff, especially in the smaller bores. Thanks... Con

Con, Use a section of the clear plastic tube available from pet shops/aquariums used on airators. rob

I just got some the other day. The third rifle I've used it on is soaking as I type. At this point, I'm thinkin it's slicker than snot on a doorknob. I think one can oughta' do 10-12 guns at least? It goes for $10-11 US here.

I found that it does not get heavy copper out even when reapplied

I'm gonna try some Sweets on a "Wipeout clean" barrel and see what happens. I'll let ya know.

416SW, For really heavy copper, nothing works as well or cheaply as a warmed up barrel filled with household ammonia. Give it a good scrub and leave for an hour or so and presto.... Cheers... Con
