Is there any truth in the rumour Olin/Winchester Australia is closing, also heard they maybe sold to Highland.

What's your take on that, 416? A result of
poor business practices or a result of Aussie gun laws? bewildered

Don
Poor business practice and the fact they are not selling Winchester firearms due to close of production in the USA. Thay are still the agents for Browning and CZ here in Aust.

Still unsure if rumours are true.

Top P
Will remain to be seen if the rumours are true.
Highland started selling Winchester ammo earlier this year.

For those that don't know Highland are an importer and wholesaler, they don't retail.

A reply from Olin USA to my q wether Olin/Winchester Australia had been sold or closed.

"Thank you for visiting Olin/Winchester's website. Your question was
forwarded to me for response.

I assure you that our Winchester operation located in Australia is still
operating and continues to be under Olin's ownership. In fact, all
Winchester Ammunition locations are still owned by Olin and continue to
produce our product line.

I hope this helps clarify any misinformation you've heard and I thank
you for contacting us.
