Hornet or K-Hornet would be my recommendation as a nice shooter . Cheap and cheerfull , and will shoot most anything you are likely to encounter .

But the cost of building any calibre will be about the same so really it is your call all the way . I am doing a 6mm-222Rimmed at present on a Cadet action ....
