Well we landed on New years eve and jumped a train from Sydney to Gosford. It was a bit warm. Then new years day it was +45 while we were walking around shopping for a car. If it wasn't for Ice cold "VICTORIA BITTER" and air conditioning I would have been a gonner.

Toured around up the coast to Coffs Harbour in the rain and then went inland and drove down to Griffith our new home for the next year. I have a line on some river fishing in the area and maybe some rabbit hunting latter on. Sure would like to shoot deer and pigs though.

My son, daughter-in-law, and friends landed XMas day in Sydney, and stayed until the 3rd. Then they started their bicycle tour around the country for the next 2 months. Coming from Idaho, he did comment it was "rather warm"! They bought a Holden Commodore(?) station wagon and set off for parts unknown. I think to haul extra beer. Smiler I did tell them to find out everything they could about hunting down under for me, and we would see what the future might bring.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Kamate ,
That's great 'cause you'll have plenty of opportunity ! hammering

The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.

Heard from the kids - in 7 days, they have managed to pedal their way from Sydney thru the Blue Mtns., Kosciuzko N.P., and made it to Lakes Entrance. They said you all have been keeping these beautiful places "secret" from the rest of us. It's gorgeous, according to them! Oh yeah, the station wagon is still "Holden" together. Smiler

Oh there's lotsa places here that don't make the headlines as places to visit but are still very beautiful places to experience.
And the best part is that there are generally very few people around when you get there.
