I’ve been looking at a few Africa options for a hunt the last half of June 2013. I finally have a job that allows me to plan more than a few weeks in advance and want to take advantage of it. My father might join me there, most likely in an observer role…though he tried that on an antelope hunt in Wyoming and soon wished he’d put in for his tag. If he could take an impala while there, he’d likely take advantage of the opportunity.... Knowing my father might join me, got me thinking about places he, at 73-years-old, might enjoy even more. What sort of options are available in New Zealand or Australia in late June? I'm a fan of Red Stag and have admired Chamois ever since I saw them 20+ years ago while mountain climbing in Austria. A buffalo hunt would be fun for me, but I don't see much attraction there for my father. Anything I choose, where I might have my father join me, would have to be comfortable, with good food/wine, and serious campfire/fireplace time. I've never heard any stories, good or bad, about the ease with which trophies can be imported to the US, so please fill in those blanks if you can. | ||
