My understanding of gridiron is confusing

Take 15 marching bands, 10 girly twirlies troupes, 4 hours of prime time TV ads and 10 minutes of football comprising 5 minutes each way, then,
22, 45, 69 Eeker another 69er Big Grin Big Grin hutt! hutt! Hutt!

Now where the hell is that dang ball. Everybody crashes into everybody else trying to make the thief spill it Roll Eyes

Now if it were liberally coated with grease pissers

Hold still varmint; while I plugs yer!
If'n I miss, our band of 45/70 brothers, will fill yer full of lead!

Are you talking Football? Not the type where men run around in shorts kicking a round ball showing there femine side. Or the Fairy type played in Australia by guys who can't hit hard enough to bend over a blade of grass but the type played in America and Canada?

BAW...

Agreed!
Lots of hype, lots of flash, lots of shouting for 5 seconds of play and then it all stops for more hype, more flash and more shouting bewildered

Don't see how you can compare it to football or rubgy either. All that gear sure looks great to make you look buff though.

I guess thats why it has never caught on globally, as most the world doesn't see the point??

Girly idea isn't bad though Wink

I am an American and I don't care for American football.

I play rugby and soccer 3 or 4 days a week before work and we have a good time.

Too many rules in American football and not enough action.

Kind of like Sex with an American g jumpingirl!

i have to agree with the bad ass(and probably the rest of the world except america) on this one. i don't understand what the entertainment value of american football is. but each to his own i guess. and at the risk of pissing everyone off...i don't see any entertainment value to any sport cheers cheers

I have been in Australia since last Jan. and am leaqrning about a number of sports I knew little about before.
I like Rugby league the best of the "oval ball sports" AFL looks much like a bunch of school kids fighting over a ball to me.

Cricket is interesting. Net ball is...well net ball.

Gridiron (Canadian or American) can be entertaining to watch. Any time the ball is "snapped" there is the potential of a big play offensivly or defencivly.

When I watch "soccer" (round ball foot ball)I sip my VB and wonder if they are going to pass the ball forward or backward or sideways. It is such a rough game. When ever two players get close together you can bet that one of them is going to hit the cround in apparent pain. (then peak to see if the ref. is looking)

I missed ALL THE NHL STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS this year for the first time in my life. Now that hurt. Ice Hockey is a very fast exciting, entertaining game.

American football is almost as slow and boring as cricket.

Any game that goes for 5 days(cricket test) has to be good.

Oh, I don't know guys. I suppose it may be whatever you're accustomed. Myself; I enjoy a good football game - particularly high school and college football. There's more sport/less commercialization in the non-professional game.

Moreover, here in Texas, Friday night football is a way of life. Nothing else shuts down a small town like Friday night lights during football season!
