Took a long time to find an area with a safe backdrop. Moved this little guy off the road. Only a youngster This target is at 20 meters and the bottom two holes are straight after bore sighting. The next three are after a few adjustments. Recoil is.....robust (It is a Tikka lite ) This target is at 78 meters as I ran out of room in the clearing. Top hole is the first shot. Next two went into the bottom hole. 4th shot is the second top. I knew I pulled it as I think the recoil was getting to me. 5th shot is the 3rd from the top and 6th is between the 5th and 2/3. Overall I'm very happy. I'll head out to the SSAA range next Sunday to take it out to 100 meters. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Good start Bakes. I see much accuracy potential there. What is the bullet / powder combination ? Hunting.... it's not everything, it's the only thing.

When you are off hunting for sambar Bakesy I suggest the 232 grainers are the better . I have knocked over a lot of sambar with both 285 (sic) Alaskas and 232 grain normas. (9.3 X 64) Both kill absolutely too but the 232 grainers anchor quicker as the bigger pills punch 2" holes through em taking a bit of energy down range. There is no recoil when you have one in your sights cobber. Posts: 87 | Location: Victoria Australia | Registered: 07 September 2002

Gryphon is right regarding recoil when you shoot at sambar. However, flinches can be gained at the range beforehand. I advise using a pad made of medical gel sandwiched between sheets of white, grainy, plastic packaging, held on the butt with electrical tape. I have an obscene name for mine but it takes much of the recoil from big rifles when sighting in.
