I've not flung any Taipans at game, yet, but have been using them on the range in a couple of calibres and like the way they shoot and the price they cost. A lot of military rifle shooters swear by them in .303 and they seem to shoot pretty damn well out of my old SMLE. I am about to play with some 300grainers in my .375H&H for Big Game Rifle matches but always revert to Woodleighs in the field and so hadn't even thought about using Taipans for game. I stopped using them in my .416 Rigby but only because my magazine is the minimum length for this calibre and the 400gn Taipans have the cannelure too far back on the projectile which means that they protrude too far out of the case for reliable feeding in my particular rifle. Otherwise, I think that they are a great projectile for the price.

I have no experience with Taipans in your calibre of choice but use them almost exclusively in 223,243,6.5x55, MAS36 (308)and 303 all except the 6.5 on game. IMHO they have to be driven at near top velocities to obtain game-stopping expansion. At present the 6.5 loads have only been used on Metallic Silhouettes and I have not had to chase any I have hit for finishing shots.

Con,strangely a guy who uses a lot of 375 recommended them to me since he personally did not like the normal 375 bullets expansion. Maybe I got a bad years batch of this stuff... Karl.

Karl, From what I've heard (not tested) the Taipan 220gr FN (.375)and 300gr FN (.458) are tough little buggers. This is in contrast to most of the other stuff which acts like a conventional soft bullet. Personally, love the Taipans in the 375H&H and 45/70. Cheers... Con
