Aussie Cape Buff group hunt

This is an idea only at the moment and looking for interested persons.

If we could put together a group of Aussie hunters (or other guys too maybe) for a group cape buffalo hunt, would you be interested? Maybe 3 persons or 4 persons on a double 2x1 hunt. Aiming for 2006 and possibly to Tanzania but Zimbabwe might be another.

Email me ( Nitro @ NitroExpress.com ) with this as a subject. I imagine a price around US$8,000 plus or minus would be possible, maybe cheaper if in Zim.

Personally I would love to hunt buffalo in Tanzania in the Selous for example.

If there is interest there are opportunities I might be able to pursue to see if a deal could be put together.

I've had a PM or two. Keep the interest going as the price mentioned is only a guide and we should see what we can do if a group could be put together.

John,

I have been promising myself a decent hunt for the past two years and still haven't managed it - maybe I should start planning for 2006 and then I might actually manage it!!!!

I would be interested in this hunt and can chase up some prices in Zimbabwe to make sure that the best deal is found. However, I have hunted Zim a lot and as much as I really love Zimbabwe, the idea of hunting Tanzania appeals to me a whole lot more - so keep me in mind for this group hunt.

I spoke to Charlie at Coffs Harbour and he seems like a nice guy. Reserved though. He could be one option. It is good he supports the Australian safari industry and in return gets a lot of support back.

Did you attend the SCI conference?

I usually do my safaris solo but like the idea of a group hunt if everyone is easy going and plans for a good time. AND may be a way to make a Tanzania hunt just a little more affordable.

Would anyone be interested in Mozambique?

That could be an alternative venue though probably closer and harder hunting. One of the interested guys wants close hunting.

John,

Yes, Mozambique would be good, too - basically, I want to hunt somewhere else in Africa other than Zim. We could also look at Zambia as another option.

And I like the idea of close hunting as it is far more exciting and I would be using an open-sighted double (either my Chapuis .470 or a Merkel .500 if my plans go well).

Gentlemen

This looks like it will be a goer for a Group Cape Buffalo hunt in Tanzania in the Selous Game Reserve for 2006.

A very competitive offer has been made by a very reputable outfitter. Aussie hunters, this could be your chance to hunt Tanzania and the Selous for a price and quality level not usually available. Members from other countries are also very welcome.

It is looking like it will be a lot of fun and I am getting excited about it. If you are seriously interested drop me a line so you can be included in any information that is sent out. I will send to the persons that have already contacted me on NE, AR or other sources an email soon.

More on this thread too. Stay tuned.

The hunt will primary be for cape buffalo for all the hunters in the group. Plains game will also be on the licence.

I understand your comment on price range but this will be a very well priced quality hunt. I have discussing it with a great outfitter who is keen to do it. A way for Aussies & Kiwis (and other interested persons) to hunt cape buff in the Selous where many of us only dream to hunt.
