feline been taken in Victoria. Reads like the same thing discussed here some weeks ago. It reads (to me anyway) tongue in cheek, author not quite prepared to call it BS but covers his arse in case it turned out true.
The mag comes to me due to my membership (free?) but if this is the standard of journalism we can expect I will be reluctant to open it in future. Except for the competition pages of course, got to keep the wish list.

I've gone right off the Journal. Every second page is an add and the articles are crap.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Yes, I have NEVER been impressed by the journal and the only things I ever read in it are the ads by major gunshops and the trading post (just in case there is a bargain to be found there - which is not likely, but I am always hopeful!).

Despite my poor opinion of the magazine, I was very, very surprised that they printed this rubbish article and even used one of the BS photos for a cover shot. The story has so many holes in it (almost as many as the headless cat - blown off by a 7mm? ....this one plays jingle-bells!), and is so obviously a hoax, that I am stunned that they have hung their credability on it.

Next month there will be an article, with photos, of the successful hunter with his foot on a flying saucer and two little green men hanging, by their feet, from a tree - but, of course, he will have sold the saucer for scrap, because he didn't think it was worth anything, and the little green men will have been used in his crab pots, so, regrettably, there will be no evidence.

"Aust. Shooter" has gone off, and as said in earlier post, "SS" not much better. "feathers and Fur" also going off lately. I reckon the best of the Aus ones on all topics is "Guns and Game."

Seldon publishes crap and the articles usually written by reasonably knowledgeable writers.

Red Face I'd better ring and have them stop my article then Wink

I get lot of the yank mags. Much better read IMO.

I reckon the quality of the 'journal' died around the same time Heinz Raz did.
I have to agree, of all the hunting/shooting rags printed in OZ , Guns and Game would have to be the best.

Thanks for the tip fellahs, I'll pick up a copy of "Guns and Game" today. I think it's OK for a story like this to be run on a hokey current affairs show but honestly, the article just insults the intelligence of any serious hunter. For a start, a 7mm round would be hard pressed to shred the neck and destroy the skull in the way the shooter says. If I shot an animal like that, I wouldnt hang it up and then pose behind my trail bike, looking off into the middle distance as per the cover shot. In addition, the carcass is out of focus, the shooter and bike are sharp. The carcass is closer and therefore appears large. The shot of the carcass hanging up in the caravan annexe is misleading in the same way. I know the writer has left himself a bit of leeway in the way the article is presented but geez! Why bother? It's hokey as hell. And the shooter didnt keep the carcass because it had no head and the tail is in a safety deposit box in the bank. Groan! This guy shot a big pussy cat, but that's it!
