From My brother's hunting trip last week. Mate Bob, with his first Bull Tahr, a shade over 12 inch's. Longshank's first bull of the morning. 12 and a half inch's, but he thought it was going to be bigger due to its small body size. His second bull, yet to be measured properly, but should stretch over the 12 and a half mark. And finally, a really good bull, again around the 12 and a half, but with a small amount of brooming on one horn to make things difficult. Photos taken from 3 meters. He let this guy go, as he'd shot enough. Went looking for a chamois instead. They didn't quite play ball, and he only saw one Buck worth pulling the trigger on.

TRhanks, great photos. I have got to get over there! How did you get so close to that bull? Cheers, Chris DRSS

My brother said it was just intent on feeding, and also probably because he came in from above it. The last pic, with its head up was when he started talking to it, it didn't know what to do and just froze, he then got up and walked away, and left it with its head down, pretty much like an ostrich with its head in the sand.

Awesome. Makes me miss NZ. ----------------------------------------- "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. -Henry David Thoreau, Walden

Wonderful. That last one was real hunting but not shooting! "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."
