I've done quite a few since then but I'll add those reports as I get time, I hope you enjoy

so on the 1st of january 2014 a few of us got together for a hunt. there was

myself
shelley….my bride
lenny…the vb kermit drinking afl loving homo……aka shells dad
kahlee….my pa
tony…machines up the acp bullets
dave86…dave from shooters and fishers party
tracey…daves much better half
charlotte….traceys girl
lachie….traceys little bloke
dougie…..i fly planes with him
izzie…….dougies better half

then heath and travis his brother turned up on the last day and they are still out there so they wont be back till friday :banghead:

so shelley and i flew out 5:30am on the 1st of jan. :toocool:  the others started with there long journey pulling the trailer and with all the dogs in the heat. We did feel sorry for them……but not for long :upyours:

just about to land

so shelley and i were there at 7:30, we spoke to ron had a laugh then went to the quarters where we were going to stay. The roos were so dry and in need of water they were dying under the buildings and sheds, the place stunk so bad :banghead:  i pulled as many as i could out, some on half came out…mmmmm yummy :vomit: :vomit:

anyhow, we sighted in my 358 norma mag and also the new titan 16 in 8x57 then jumped in the zooki to look for a pig.  Within about 10 minutes we got to the first dam, i said to shelley they wont be in the water yet but they will be in the middle of the day so we will look around the bases of the more shady trees.  this plan took about 1 minute to work and shelley used the 8x57 with the 175gr acp to get this fella (notice the thongs)

in this shot you can see the projectile under the skin with the lumpsticking out :goodstuff: :toocool:

the shoulder

the projectile recovered

shell and i then went back to the house to sort some stuff out, i had a beer and then we popped over to see ronny for lunch, i spoke to fatboy and he informed me the others were still a fair way off so shelley and i went back out and shot another 4 pigs in the water. here are some of the pigs shelley shot with the 8x57

i shot 2 also with the 358 norma but we didnt take pics as we found some dog tracks that came out of the mud and were fresh so we chased them for a bit.

the next few days were a complete blur to be honest, we tried hard to get the kids there first pigs because they are licensed, we tried to get tony his first anything and he started with a pig, dougie shot some more pigs, his missus izzie shot here first pigs kahlee got a nice boar, we dogged a few as well and then by the end of the trip 30 was our number…..but we will need to see what heath brings home :goodstuff:

here are some random shots of the trip though

dave86 looking unhappy……..probably cause he used a remmington

charlotte

the crew with quinn

tony's first shot at anything, this boar about 160-170 freehand with the 358 norma and 185gr acp

lachies pig

kahlees best pig to date

we also did some testing with a prototype design of the new 257 acp projectile, i will show a recovered bullet and damage to piggy pics in the cap section but the idea is in a word awesome and seems to work a treat. :toocool: :toocool: :toocool:

i want more pigs and goats and stuff shot first but i can say that out of a 257wby they leave 20 cent exit holes on goats at 400, they exited everything i shot even pigs up the arse and the only way i got a recovered pill was to drive one into a bank of gravel/sand  and even at 100m from the 257 it held 100% weight and it peeled to the base nearly…………

alright a sneaky pic

this is the hole through the shoulder after i peeled it back on about a 50kg sow

the only down side to the trip, was that the last pig quoin caught he was in thick sapling and shit you could hardly walk through, he took off about half a km and as i got there he was on a big old boar but had him bailed…..i said what are ya doing get into him, to which quinn lugged on again and the pig bashed him once again into the shit. it wasnt till after i knifed the pig we saw this.  you could put your fingers up to your knuckles into the hole. The whole is one whole, there was just a bit of skin on top so the hook must of went in and out again :banghead:

the bastard is tough though as he just wanted to catch more and thismorning he is walking around with no limp even :goodstuff:

anyhow shelley and i flew back to st george the next day to get fuel and then fly home. turned out there was storms so we stayed the night and flew home the next day.  we causght a pig with fatboy and even when we did fly yesterday the weather through the ranges was shit

leaving st george

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

I'm looking to get some .358" in more of a
cup point and much less surface contact with the bore. In a 300gr for NT Buff cull for 2015. Am thinking around 500 of 'em.

Thanks,
George
