Well the nightmare continues. My .458 Lott self destructed due to extreme light weight (8.5 lbs)so I sent it back to AHR to get repaired and add weight etc. this rifle is on my Australian import permit and license. Well Wayne shipped it back 2 day air per my request and rifle has vanished. Anyone change an import Australian import permit? trying to get ahold of barry id like to bring my 470 nitro now. Luckily I was smart enough to put 2 rifles on permit wow good lesson learned my 416 will do the trick but I put a lot of money into that 458. Anyone else have this happen? Good gawd, that is a nightmare. But trying to get an Aussie import permit changed at the last minute is like trying to pull out a hungry Crock's incisors with flimsy tweezers. Aussie bureaucrats are never about last-minute anything. Just bring your 416 rifle and call it good on this hunt. Maybe the Lott next time. At least you've got that CZ dog fixed. I don't know the answer but can offer some empathy. When going to Africa 10 years ago, I sent off all the RSA and Mozambique safari and firearms forms and then put my passport away safe somewhere...somewhere so safe it took five years to find. So, not only did I have to declare it lost and get another but all the forms that referred to it had to be redone within a rapidly narrowing time frame. | |||
