Terrible when pets are shot like that.
Since he talked with them, they should be caught fairly soon.

Can't call this anything other than vandalism of animals whatever proper terms apply.

One night the state troopers called me about a cow hit on the road. I called Dad since they were his. We met and found the mess on the road etc but, the cow was gone. Just the one was hit.
The next summer the road grader fellow found the hide n head in a ditch several miles away. Someone had loaded her up and took the meat. Never learned anything more.

At times around this area we hear about livestock being found shot. Sometimes quite a number of them.

The actions are unlawful destruction of livestock, which should fall in to stock theft, the media report is full of claims of animal cruelty and details the upper penalty for the latter.

Just as poaching is not hunting, killing stock because you are such a stupid poacher you cant tell the difference between game and someones pets is not animal cruelty. Unfortunately we've already had a "bowpoacher" convicted of animal cruelty after killing a neighbours cat because the prosecutor couldn't think of a better charge...

I wonder how intoxicated they were?
