Over the past 4 weeks (Oct/Nov) I've shot 4 Bull Tahr and observed several others. 3 on the west coast and one on the east coast. All have been still in very good colour. Capes perfect. Dark bodies and gold manes. This is unusally late, usually they are blonding out by September. Probably due to the cold spring and late winter conditions. Anybody else been out there and observed the same? This fellow was shot on 16th October. Colour was more like an August cape. ...."At some point in every man's life he should own a Sako rifle and a John Deere tractor....it just doesn't get any better...."

This one shot this week. (November) Colour starting to fade on top back, but still very dark for November. Others I saw in the same area were darker, and also smarter. ...."At some point in every man's life he should own a Sako rifle and a John Deere tractor....it just doesn't get any better...."

All the ones in my street are just the same ... Do you think it has to do with more cloudy days - less sunlight to fade them ? Or is it temperature-driven? Hope you havent shot my one yet . ________________________ Old enough to know better
