What gamespecies (small and big) can be hunted in the Auckland region in August?

Fallow deer are not too far off I believe.

Also in Auckland itself, you would have to be game to enter some pubs, as you might be a huntable species yourself!

Whilst there is a lot of "wildlife" in the greater Auckland region , in terms of hunting there is fallow deer in the Woodhill forest , and goats in many of the forested water catchment areas . Permits required for access to both I beleive .Inquiring at the nearest Auckland Regional Council office should supply the necessary information.

If you can get a couple of hours south of Auckland your options open up enormously - Red deer, Sika deer, goats, and rabbits spring to mind.
