Anyone have any experience using these on Buffalo. They Group really well out of my 500/416 Double and Point of Aim is right on. Just wondering how they perform down range?

Last year, in South Africa, I put one into a downed cape buff bull. The bullet travelled the full length of the body from the hip and stopped just under the skin of the chest. This with a Merkel 450/400.

Use them with confidence on buff in your .416 mate, they have been well tested here by the company and end-users alike.

G'Day Fella's,

Larry S, I purchase 100 Hydro's for reloading in my .404 Jeff but haven't shot any into Big and Dangerous game.
A couple of mates of mine have used them in Africa (.458 Lott, .416 etc), on several Elephant and Cape Buff! They tell me they are over the moon with regard to great performance, on these dangerous game animals!

Hope that helps

Larry,

Load them and use them with confidence on buffalo. I have used them successfully in my 458WM and 416RM on our buffalo...

Cheers,
Mark.

Good enough for me. Now all I need to do is find a Cape Buffalo. Roll Eyes
What is your cost for them? From Midway they run a little over $4.00/ea.

larry it really wont matter what they cost when that 45 incher is staring you down....or coming in for a closer inspection.
Buy them and use them with confidence.

I agree. Ammo cost is a very small percentage of your Safari Cost. I just wondered what the price difference is between here and down under?

They will go end to end most times on a nearly full grown Water Buffalo and even exit on occasion.

At least $3000 plus day fees.Smiler Whatever it costs, you'll forget about the price of the bullets. And when you get your critters, make sure they take the capes off straight away, not leave them overnight or drive the beast (any beast) back to camp first. Believe me, some PHs have no idea about trophy handling.
