Sorry, don't have one but, while those that do sort out their dope: .500 A Square is a crazy name for a cartridge - I imagine it shooting loaded dice.

Hi pc, Have one in my gun locker. Just waiting for some reloading parts from the states.....should be here any day. Found some great priced Bertram 570 grain projectiles at @ $1 each. Also bought some of bruces cases. Looking at the available reloading data ar2206h appears to be our friend. Adi allows ar2206h to be loaded down to 60% of maximum charge safely as a starting load.......this may come in rather handy. I have Pierre van der walts book "African dangerous game cartridges". He lists h-4895 (2206h) with 600 grain bullets start load 106 grains to max load 115 grains. This is from the quoted reference of A Square reloading manual- Any Shot You Want. Personally I plan to start around 90 grains and let my body decide where the best place is to stop! I will also be using woodleighs which perform well at less than maximum speed of a 500 a square. Hope this helps, Marcus.

Marlin45, Hi, I am using 120 Gns of A.R.2217 or 2213sc.(makes no difference which one,) in my .505 Gibbs, with 525 Gn Woodleigh's'' I think that 2206H is too fast burning, the slower burning powders take the sting out of the recoil but still do the job!! Regards from B.G.R.C. W.A.
