Fellas, just finished reading Nick Harvey's report on the 25 WSSM. I think it would be ideal for our Aussie thin skinned game. If this Remington SxS double doesn't turn up here in a hurry, I might use my PTA and try one. What do you guys think?

The WSSM's are getting a reputation as a throat burner in a very small number of rounds ie.300 or so,the accuracy falls right off.

One bloke on another Aussie forum has had two replaced(223WSSM's)and is now buying a Rem.22/250 after getting shitty service from Win Aus.

Here's the link...

Buy a .25/06 or if you want a short action , a .243 . Unlike their bigger cousins the WSSM's are going nowhere fast . Bet they don't last another 5 years .

The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.

Bugger the WSSM's
I had a 25 Souper improved based on a Mohawk at one stage and loved it. Would build another in a flash or a 25/284 if I wanted a bit more soup Big Grin

The 25WSSM is the only WSSM that I would buy, the major worry with the WSSM cartridges is barrel wear but the 25WSSM uses a little less powder than a 25-06 so wear shouldn't be a major problem for this cartridge.

I recon it would be a fantastic little hunting cartridge.
