Bought a Fuji digital camera last december ($700 odd). A few months ago in QLD I noticed something on the lens so I took it to the place I bought it from and they sent it back to fuji for a check up under warranty (or so I thought). Got the report yesterday. Its a fungus on the lens and guess what....the warranty is VOID Mad It'll only cost me $500 odd to fix!. So I rang fuji and spoke to a mindless drone. I tell her that the camera hasn't even seen its first birthday yet and it should not develope a fungus on the lens so soon. I tell her I spoke to a photographer here in Darwin with 30 years experience in the top end and he has never seen fungus on a lens so new. I said that either their manufacturing practises are crap OR their materials are crap.

Tough luck she says, warrenty void, nothing they can do. Gritting my teeth I "thanked" her for her help and hung up. Called Fuju switch again and asked to speak to her boss. Spoke to a bloke called Frank. He agreed that the lens should not develop fungus so soon (he's never heard of it happening this quick either, maybe 10 years or so if kept in rough conditions) AND he said they will either fix it or send me a new camera dancing I shot him an email this morning out lining the problem and spoke to him this afternoon. Alls good (so far)

So fellas it pays to not to take no for an answer. Now I just have to win my fight with Defence Housing about my lack of roof insulation!

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Yeah, I would have thought they were like a scope and gas sealed. My bynocks started to get some fungi inside the lense so now I sometimes line it up with the sun to cook. It seems to help.

Well they are supposed to be. Fungus can grow on a camera lens but everyone I spoke to says it usually takes years. Not 8-9 months.
