After I reached my limit I tried to capture some of the action, so here are a few clips of the birds flying hard and fast, it made for some interesting shooting on the weekend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvtzxRM6idg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2C1anicYc8 Enjoy H

I didn't know you guys had pheasants in New Zealand. My favorite upland game bird. Do you have a decent population of wild birds or are these released birds? Tom Z NRA Life Member

Hendrik Great video, thanks for posting. Reminds me of a great day walk up pheasant shooting I had over there. Previously 500N with many thousands of posts !

Well done, Hendrik. That country looks familiar. Is it anywhere near the glow-worms?

Hi Labman, these birds were released over the last 4 years, so we are starting to see a decent wild population in the area and 75% of the birds taken on this day was from the latest release. Nz has some very good driven shooting and many areas now offer great rough shooting as well. Pheasants were introduced, same as most of our other game but they have adapted well. Sambarman, yes its glow worm and fitbastard country :-)

Good stuff Hendrik... too many foxes here for any wild pheasants no matter how many escape the guns. Posts: 87 | Location: Victoria Australia | Registered: 07 September 2002
