Aggro salties settle in at NZ zoo

Two aggressive Australians have begun a new life across the Tasman, but the saltwater crocodiles are yet to win over the locals.

The crocs - Scar from Darwin and Goldie from Cairns - have been bought by a zoo near Auckland.

There were a few scary moments on their flight over on an Air Force Hercules when Scar broke his head restraint and had to be given a muscle relaxant to calm his nerves.

The zoo's Brian Copland will be in charge of feeding the pair.


"I'm amazed the way the saltwater crocodile tries to eat you," he said. "I just didn't realise it was that full-on all the time."

Scar and Goldie will have to stay in quarantine for a fortnight.

They hate each other and will be kept apart at the zoo.

Bit chilly in EnZed for a croc eh?? they'd be wanting a nice heated pool!!

these two crocs do have specially heated pools in their enclosures . Cant go letting those pair of softies suffer now can we ?

'Course theres no way they will be able to go back to Oz - now that they have learned to say "fish and chips " and the number "six" and that what you call thongs are really called jandals ( or sometimes "samoan safety boots " )

Thong's are something HOT women wear I haven't worked out why Aussies put them on their feet

Fair call Matt - I guess you already have enough ugly women of your own , and they dont need the competition.....
