Before the "GULF WAR 2" iraq's oil was a non-issue. NOW how come when an oil field gets attacked the price of oil goes up?

?? Someone's making more money than they should and using it for an excuse??
The thing that makes me laugh is when the government officials say " we're doing all we can to cut ( fuel/ living/ business) costs", and a week or two later, they increase taxes or vote to increase their own pays.
By the time you count fuel levvies and GST, MORE than half the cost of fuel in this country is TAX !
If our government had to offer its services in the private sector, at the rate it costs the taxpayer, they wouldn't ever win a contract! If they did , they would be bankrupt in a month.
Another rant, when the finances minister announcesa a " budget surplus" , they announce it as a good thing. A "budget surplus " is simply the government DECIDING to NOT spend our taxes on services for US.I cant think of what goes through their minds when they DECIDE that we dont need better schools, hospitals, law enforcment , roads, tax cuts, ect.

Or give our money back to us through tax cuts, instead of both sides blowing it away on frivilous election vote grabbing programmes.

I think I can spend MY money better than they can.

John Howard, "We will never, never, never have a GST". After dropping all the other incidential taxes on goods, government receipts in the first full year were $61.3B more than estimates. No wonder that little bastard can fund buyback schemes, invading Iraq, buy used Abrahams tanks and air launched missiles

On top of the GST ripoff, the Feds are getting the rewards from charging Australians full parity pricing for their own oil products. Every time I see that thieving bastard taking his morning walk, I hope that he will friggin drop dead from the strain.

That's a very tired Labor Party line. If I remember there was an election AFTER they changed their mind and promised to introduce a GST. If they are elected in with the PROMISE to introduce a tax, it is very lame to claim they broke their word.

Surely the Lamer Party can find something better than that line as an attack.

I dont feel any sympathy to John Howard and not necessarily only because of the buy back farce. Nevertheless when I consider the alternative I will choose the lesser evil and vote coalition. Anyone who believes that shooters interests would be served better under labour (possibly in coalition with the greens) is deluding himself.
Cheers
