Hello Bakes can you make a thread stay at the top of the page??

Not sure what other members think, but i think it would be good to have thread with facts about hunting laws or lack of in New Zealand, importing firearms.

There has been quite few people asking about New Zealand and a thread like this would answer some of the common questions about New Zealand,as we have very few laws and no seasons or bag limits on big game.

What do you all think sofa

Sounds like a top idea to me. I travel between Aus and NZ a fair bit, and have never been bothered taking a gun across. Always seems more difficult than it actually is. I figured restrictions are fairly slack though; when I popped into Gun City in Chch I noticed a bunch of mg 34s, m16s etc ect m-16s on display. Very different to Oz!

Also, slightly off topic, I think I saw the 'Spot-x' (?) hunting guide about NZ has just come out - heaps of info on public access hunting in NZ. Would you guys rate that as an accurate guide to hunting spots in NZ, for those of us too poor or cheap to get a guide?

Cheers!

I havent read the guide but there has been mixed reviews here to it . I suspect it may be a good general guidebook , with specific details on specific areas needing more research by the reader. Does that make sense ?

More poor/average reviews than good ones.

Sorry for the late post mate, I'm having trouble posting on AR at the moment (I'm at work now)Post away and I'll make it a sticky. If any Aussie's out there want to post the rules and regs for Australia feel free to do so.
