Re- sleeving a barrel has been around for a long time - many of the English Rook Rifle cartridges have been done like this after years of corrosive primers or black powder.

You note the inserts offered are for low power , low intensity cartidges. I think if you stick to those calibres and have the sleeve fitted by a competant gunsmith there would be no problems at all.
