Odd title eh I had phone call this morning from a farmer and a very old friend he told me a story that is nothing short of nazism. In the Mareeba and surrounding area the police are uses tactics well below the belt. They turn up at the farm house knowing full well the farmer is out they say to the occupant hello we are here to do a firearm licensing check they go to the safe the wife or kids open the safe and the next question is are you licensed? END GAME farmer looses every thing. I had a phone call the day before from another friend and I will say that farmers are not the most reliable time keepers 7 day working weeks rule out most things in thier mind but the police are rocking up at thier home at midnight the day thier licence expires to take away the rifles. Might as well tell someone it's been on my mind all morning and it's too wet to go out hunting. Hippy from the bush

I've heard of this before. I believe the cops have to give fair notice and arrange a time, don't know for sure. I've told the wife to tell them that I have the key and she can't show them my safe, if I'm out.
