Very sorry to hear from his lady partner that Ian died suddenly yesterday.

At this time that's all I know.
Wanted to let everyone on this thread know about it too, as he posted here for quite a few yrs.

He was 55, had 3 boys. Was in love with his hunting area and was taking his lady friend out to show her around when the place had a for sale sign on it. Told her "we should buy it" "Let's do it" So they did, that was about 5-6yrs ago near as I can recall. Sure am glad they've had this much time to enjoy the place. Right where he'd been Sambar hunting for yrs. Can't beat that with a big club.

According to his son Luke's post on facebook he apparently died in his sleep about 4am 7/25/12.

Search his name for a very brief obit:
"Ian David Tanner".

Thank you,
George

Sorry to hear this. As with most of the people on these forums, I did not know him but, as I recall, there was a post from him within the last few days.

Never send to know for whom the bell tolls ...

Bloody hell, sorry to hear that. My thoughts go out to his family.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Rec'd a nice letter of explanation tonight from his lady Louise.
He'd woke up with severe pains in L arm and leg.
Called the ambulance and then her to talk while waiting the nearly and hour on them to get the 40 miles out there to the place. They had a nice visit and he joked with her etc.

Medics tried everything they could to save him. BP was very low, just nothing could be done that far from the hosp. IF even then. Looks like it was meant to be.

They're still waiting on the autopsy to set the funeral. It will be in Wangarratta somewhere, I assume this coming week sometime.
Thank you,
George

Ridiculous an hour for an ambulance. I'm guessing it was the country and no country ambulance service?

Sorry to hear about a member's untimely death. Condolences to his family.
