A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

"merely having to explain to children who walk past every day why a shop sells guns"

I don't know what to say bewildered

That the dealer had somehow convinced the council to give him a permit without a great deal of thought about it.

A very "sad" case of a mother got me--- why there should be no gun shop.

Like the mothers we get at school who has everyone to blame but their child until said
person ends up in jail, in thearpy etc. The world is a dangerous place.

The fault is never how they view the world.

The point she made that guns automatically draw criminals and that the young innocent kids will actually see guns were points that John Laws tacitly agreed with. Also brought in some point about controls over brothels and controls over gun shops needing to be the same. A fair bit of what she said lacked logic. Surprise.

We can lay this squarely at the door of the news media for their deliberate distortion of and misreporting of firearm thefts. While it's true that a number of guns have been stolen from gunshops plus a few from private residences the vast majority have been stolen from military establishments and police stations.

My hart goes out to all of you down under. You have one hell of a battle to keep what you have after the losses that your law-abiding sportsmen have taken. The media here in the States is hot after our guns every day.

A few days after the Columbine murders in Colorado an old man in California intentionally rammed his car through a preschool play ground killing 2 or 3 children and injuring 4 or 5 others. When police arrested him he stated that the innocent must pay!!! This got page 6 in the paper and was hardly a full paragraph. Had he used a gun it would have been front page.

I lived in the Brisbane, QLD area for a year after getting out of the Marine Corps in 1992. Luckily my new wife wanted to see what it was like in the States. So we moved here to Arizona I still remember being dumbfounded at the cost of shooting and archery equipment.

Best of luck fight the good fight!

now hold on there you mean criminals have guns and the new draconian laws to keep criminals from having guns do not work. thats imposible everyone knows all guns have to be legaly purchased with all the paperwork and checks done.

it is therefore imposible that people who ignore laws agains armed robery and murder would ignore the realy important laws put in place to protect our children and get guns illegaly.

so I know you must be making this up criminals stealing guns give me peace.

Man, what a bunch of hand-wringing ninnies. You'd think someone, anyone, would actually get it at some point... Trying to change minds like that is like trying to change a turd into a truffle - you will fail and be full of shit when you're done.
