Not much hunting going on guys. Whats your excuse??
Mine is no bloody places to hunt on But that may change soon. I've been invited out to a blokes farm to sight in my rifles and he also said I could knock over some hares. And I was asked by a work mate if I could have a crack at some wild dogs on her parents farm. They took a calf last week.
So....what have you all been doing??

I'll be out for my last chance at a pheasant on daylight tomorrow.Wish you could be there TP . I spend most evenings I have spare now, up the back of the farm watching out for a big pig. Saw 8 up to 130lb last night, but none big enough for me to string an arrow.

Yo, Bakes, give or take a day ,,, ducks and geese start around the 9th of September, big horn sheep and black bear must start around then in the southern mountainous part of Alberta. In the mountains the elk and moose and deer start up near the end of September .. Hungarian partridges on September 15th .. pheasants commence around October 15th. Deer hunting on the prairie in November .. Most seasons end at the end of November although a few in different areas might go a bit longer ... Approximately three months of good hunting .. Bow hunters start a bit earlier ... A lot of stuff is on draw and this year I will be able to hunt a cow elk, a whitetail buck on a general tag, two whitetail does, three mule deer does .. and in a military zone I can take two bucks (either white tail or mule deer and another doe .. ) whew !! I also have a couple of antelope tags in Montana ... plus I want to go to South Dakota and see those huge numbers of pheasants .. maybe even whack one ...

Sounds like you have a busy few months ahead mate. Is there any hunting you can do outside that main time period?

Yo, Bakes !!! A person can whack varmints like coyotes and foxes .. crows and magpies ... gophers (ground squirrels by the zillions in some places) ... in the off season. I've been on 16 airplanes since March so I will go other places to hunt also ... I still remember very well your great hospitality when my lady and I arrived in Darwin without baggage ...
