Every man and his dog are chasing them here in the Wimmera at the moment. A mate of my son's in Year 12 shot 7 the other night. All young ones.

And no wonder. We got 6 in 2 hours this afternoon. In stubble. Still with the black fur on the tail.

How gun shy are the survivors going to be by mid winter?

GBB ,
Went out on a perfect night earlier in the week . Only saw 3 and 2 of those were really cagey . Got a couple with 80gn Bergers out of the .243 Ackley at 3400 . No mistaking a hit with those things . They make a serious whop !
Good to see a few bunnies around . RCD seems to have cleaned them out where I do most of my shooting .

The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.

The .243 Ackley seems great, Bushchook. we have shot most of ours so far with u/0's from the Landcruiser as we chase them around paddocks.

Haven't been out spotlighting yet. Son wanted to on Friday night but we got caught up working on his Landcruiser; he saved every cent he got over the holidays at the bins and is so proud of it.

Its a HJ 45 with a 350 Chev etc..... not what i would have bought as a first car but it was his "focus" since we've been back at school. $8900-
I thought it too much despite all the features but your only 18 once, i guess.

There's quite a few hares here at present and patches of bunnies too.

GBB ,
Hope your young bloke can keep his cruiser shiny side up .
Had a mate with a similar setup . Scary at times with that amount of horsepower in a vehicle that unstable . Eeker Leave one parked in a strong crosswind and you'll find it lying on it's side in the morning .

I know!

Also worried about it costing so much. That has caused a few sleepless night. Even if it has a Warne winch, heavy duty bull bar, 80 series g'box and diffs, dual gas tanks, Holley 600, special distributor. Blah blah.

As you said, it goes but it aint the most stable, particularly on loose dirt roads.
