Whilst there is a lot of useful information on ths board, I can't help but thinking that this is a private chat forum for a few of the inductees. I don't think I've ever heard much except a few persons domination of this board. Either you can't stand New Zealanders or whatnot. I've been to NZ several times and I like them, maybe I don't have much sense of humour according to some of you, but lets get back to the subject?

OK awaiting lots of on-topic threads started by Macawber.

One thing about forums is they ain't free entertainment. You only get out what you put in. Bakes can't do it all.

I heard some drivel at the start of this post, but its getting better!
I havent seen a forum yet any different in that respect.
If you want pure information, buy an encyclopedia. If we share our ideas and thoughts in this forum, and you wish to read them, its up to you to filter through the irrelevant (to you) stuff thats there you find the stuff you want to see, not for us to decide what we think other people want to know.
Now to think up some more drivel!

Macawber

A quick check of your previous postings suggests you are trying to make some statements but you have no audience.

That is not the site's fault.

To quote NitroX: One thing about forums is they ain't free entertainment.

That reminds me.....time to start another thread on anarchism

Although this is a hunting/shooting site, it is basically a chatroom. Not everyone goes hunting every week (Except Gary Hall )so things can get a bit slow, if people want to post off topic posts then they are free to do so. There are no rules to posting on this site and a check of the other forums will show off topic posts as well. As to the Kiwi/Aussie thing, well mates often take the piss out of each other and if things are slow what better way to pass the time than to stir Muzza up?

I have tried to induce the lurkers here to post but have not persuaded many non-Aussies/Kiwi's to jump in. Interestingly I think that this forum and the African forum get more traffic than the other ones. I haven't seen any stats on that, its just what I think.

Now if you don't like the content, feel free to post some subjects to move things along. I sure any question will get answered, after that, the post will get a life of its own and could go anywhere, and thats something I like about this forum. Another thing I like is that we all get along. There is no bad blood and people are generally polite. On some of the other forums it can get a bit nastie

We get a lot of lookers on this forum and sometimes the yanks or whoever will post. Its always good to hear from them but its the regulars that keep the topics clicking over and they are a good bunch of blokes. I've talked on the phone to some, have met others and hope to met more. I've helped out one member with a shooting property and sent another a mag that was wanted and thats what mates do and thats what I feel we are here, mates.

spend a pleasant arvo shooting flies off the front gate with the doubles and my Sharps!

I used to try to shoot flies on my 100 metre target when building up handloads for my .222. It was truly a tack-holer.

I am lucky just to hit a small plate with the double but on the other hand it doesn't matter.

Hey Bakes
That's "Damn Yanks" or "Damn Yankees" to you, so get it right mate .
I lurk your board (among others), but as I don't often have much to say that's "on-topic" I tend to keep my keyboard silent.

Yer know, if we was all straight faced and technical all the time we would end up "know-it-all-bastards" in a month, and be told to f*__ off quick smart.

Don't know 'bout the rest of yous, bet I've NEVER "heard" anything out of mine or anyone elses posts

We write the same as we speak, straight and to the point. Sure I take the piss outa Muzza the Kiwi, BUT into round 59 and we're about even on points. I've meet him face to face and he's a bloody nice bloke! (now don't go gettin all mushy on us Muzz) Same goes for Far Canal; farcanal he spreads some shit but he also mops it up so the smell don't linger

Don't know about Nitro X; but I'm sure if we ever get together, we could arrange some easy chairs on the front porch at his place, a bit of vino and spend a pleasant arvo shooting flies off the front gate with the doubles and my Sharps!

Don't judge a book by it's cover; and don't judge the forum participants by mistaking drivel for light hearted small talk between friends!

That sounds like a challenge to me (or at least a fine idea) so the ball is in your court. I'll have to start and develop some 'benchrest' loads for my .470 double but count me in!!!

I like this forum the way it is. Sometimes it is hunting and sometimes just fun. One thing it's got over some of the others I spend time on is there are no snobs. That's why I like posting here, even if I have never been there down under. It will happen someday though. I feel like I have known some of the guys here for ever.

Ya got two women posting here fairly regularly, between me and Shehuntz, that's better than most forums here.

Hell, even a guy like Bakes can go shooting spotty farm pigs in the nude and tell the tale here. Put your photo up again, Bakesly. Well, ya can't get better than that. I take that back, yes, you can, you can see Nitro's big buffalo.

John, please post that buffalo photo again.
