http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32...and_science-science/ Here's an interesting story. They don't mention the size but at 40 lbs it must have been considerably larger than our tiny golden or bald eagles in the USA ! It's always interesting to see folk tails confirmed.

Watched a doco once on the first people to step foot in NZ. They suggested the same thing. I thought it was funny. The same series showed the first people in North America and in Australia. In NA they had to contend with lion, smilodon, bears, the nasty short faced bear etc. In Aust we had a 7 meter goanna that ate folks, crocs, giant snakes etc. In NZ they had....a bird to watch out for. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"
