Howdy,

To answer your question in breif In the "Estate Catergory" 295 7/8 is the current benchmark for a Bronze Medal Stag and 352 2/8 is the current SCI Benchmark for a Gold Medal Stag. So anything in between is a "Silver Medal" Stag.

So SCI 296 -352 1/8 is the range for Silver Medal Stags.

There is quite a difference between a 296 and 352 Stag, so be discerning in your purchase.

Read-On:

The SCI Benchmarks for Medal Catergories are dynamic, depending on what trophies are submitted to the record book. My understanding is that the benchmarks are a rolling average of total submissions.
Silver Medal Benchmark is rising quite rapidly, because the average size of Farmed Stags in New Zealand is increasing every year. (Primarily Genetic Gains.)
So in a lot of cases, last years "Gold Medal" is now a Silver Medal if it was "Borderline Gold"

You'll find the disparity between outfitters is due to:
1/. Clever marketing (See if the Medal catergory states that it is SCI.) Some Outfitters have their own "Medal Thing" going on.
2/. Ignorance of the SCI system.
3/. Out-of-date information.

To get the current Benchmarks, you'll find them on the SCI Website
Also there are two catergories for Red Stag in New Zealand/South Pacific.
Estate: From a fenced area.
Free Range: Wild/Unfenced.

Estate: Fenced

Free Range: Wild

Also be careful of who is measuring the trophy. Some unscrupulous operators are know to "Stretch" the tape a little.

I have plenty pic's of all categories if you wish to PM me.

Cheers Tim B.
