Not to the same extent , but we sure do have a "roaming" dog problem in towns . Unfortunately the lower the socioeconomic status of the town the higher the roaming dog population - much the same as in parts of Oz that I travel through annually . My hunting buddy ( who is the local animal control officer for the local council ) has the answer - a fully suppressed .44 magnum . Nocturnal dog ranging takes on a whole new aspect with one of these babies....

Rural NZ doesnt have a major dog problem , I guess coz we are far more tightly populated than most of Aussie , so dogs are noticed and dealt to fairly fast . Stray dogs in National Parks are a major threat to the Kiwi though , being flightless and brainless mr kiwi gets eaten pretty fast . One dog in a northern State Forest killed over a hundred kiwi before it finally got shot , after about three months .Pig hunters that lose their dogs create a few hassles , but most farmers will catch the dog if he can rather than shoot on sight . The worst dogs are roaming town dogs , thats the main reason why I havent got woolly animals on my towny small farm - at least cattle can fend for themselves a bit , and a dog that gets a good kick from a cow doesnt come back for more .

And we dont have dingos!!!

Hey Derf,

how often do you see 'real pussy', untouched by an airbrush, on a public forum? As Murray says, 'the pursuit of pussy' is an international pastime - I would add that 'pussy' over here, is regarded as feral! ie, fair game!!

Another thing we don't here about from your way is feral cats. Surely the Kiwi bush would be crawling with the little buggers. And why didn't the acclimatization mob release the fox into NZ? Did they learn from Australia and wake up to themselves? Not that I'm complaining, I love shooting foxes.

Dont talk to me about F**kin feral cats pal . The NZ countryside is full of feral cats , courtesy of lazy bastard townies who get the kids a kitten then dump it next school holidays cos its easier than booking it into the cattery. We are fighting a continuous battle aginst cats here , although next week our 250 hectare bush reserve that we are currently doing good works in is going to get blitzed with 1080 poison- for the possums , but the by kill of rats and cats and mustelids will probably be more important to the bird life . We aerial poisoned the area last year at the same time and the increase in birdlife due to much higher chick survival rates was unbeleivable . Doing it again this year will give the birds another good breeding season so we should see even more bush birds there now .

Cats are a major killer of our native birds , and native lizards and frogs , and they can be good sport too , even the ones with collars . Under our Regional Council By Laws a cat is deemed feral if it is outside its owners property and immediate control. Cat on my lawn equals cat in trouble , even in town . Thats what silencers on .22s are for ..

Forunately we never got foxes , about the only thing they didnt try to introduce . We had squirrels ( they didnt survive ), and have weasels , stoats and ferrets and have enough trouble with them . And you can have your bloody possums back anytime too .

Thanks Far Canel,

Here it is:

It's kinda big, as I'm still grappling with the settings on my digi cam!

When it loads, just scroll down. You'll get the idea!

Thanks Muzza,

it's a big file, and I know how stingy and impatient you are with waiting for downloads, so I've gone with the infinitely better suggestion that my compatriot Far Canel has offered.

Good One.

Far Canel,

Thanks, now that I've worked out how to do that ("...if all else fails, read the directions..." ), any ideas on how to reduce the size of an image 'after' the event?

jeezuz, I didn't think it's be THAT big! I sent this to my son at sdhool, and my ex stuck her nose into his inbox - found this and complained to the proncipa; thatI was 'corrupting our son'. Holy shit, he's 13, and when I sat him down to have a father /son chat, his response was "...What would you like to know, Dad?" He did actuallytell me that leaving condoms in the car was not a good idea.! I reckon she got the shits because she thought she was looking in a mirror!

Thanks.

Sorry Derf , bit of spill-over from the cat hunting forum . But lets face it , the pursuit of pussy is an international pastime , so it is truly appropriate - even if truly inappropriate - to continue this thread here .
You Northern Hemisphere guys simply cant appreciate what a down-under pussy is like ....

You should be able to edit it , delete the big photo and replace it with a smaller version that you will have re-sized then posted to your photo host , then re-import it in the smaller size . Personally I would leave it as is just to p*ss everyone off...

If Petes ex missus has a pussy that big I cant see why she should suddenly be an ex.... but lets not go there.
