Is there any site equivalent to GunsAmerica.com where one can gauge the price of used guns here in Australia? I'm caught in a paperwork Catch-22 and will have to sell my T/C before I move to the UK in two weeks. Knowing what a fair price is may save me a few stops when trying to find a dealer here to buy it. Thanks.

Try http://www.potfire.com.au/default.htm For some top end sort of prices, or http://www.rpgfirearms.com.au/welcome_policy.html here is kind of interesting. They are both obviously shops, well Potters is. I dunno if either of them have T/C`s. I personally wouldnt want to `need` to sell a gun in this country in 2 weeks but you gotta do what ya gotta do, eh.

Thanks for the links; I'll have a look. The guns are properly registered and all; I've been here for over a year. If worse comes to worse, the police will happily cut them up for free, I understand. There is a shop here in Melbourne which even takes unregistered guns, so hopefully mine will find a happy home somewhere. (sigh) Moral: never trust the date an embassy gives you for when your passport will be returned. I had to cancel my trip back home through the US at the last minute (where I'd planned to store them), and there's now not enough time to get all the papers in order for the UK.

asdf, I know some locals around Shepparton that are Contender nuts. PM me your email and I can pass it on. Might be able to find you a buyer. Cheers... Con

Will wonders never cease! ... the passport arrived finally (3 weeks late), Qantas was able to reroute my trip through the US for a surprisingly modest fee (and with only 2 days notice), and Aus. Customs assures me there'll be no trouble in getting my export permit fixed up at the airport. A fine country Australia is; I will miss it.
