Any of you guys live in the area. Will be there on business. Assume all the hunting is up north but would like some ideas on what to do or who to meet. My direct email is larry.burgin@arvinmeritor.com. If you PM me on AR I probably cannot respond on my blackberry. Leaving on Saturday, arrive Monday AM.

Hi Larry Iw ill email you but if you are from outside of Australia (not Australian citizen with a firearms licence) it takes 28 days to get an International Visitors Permit. This is required for any trigger pulling in any Australian state and places like Victoria are tough on that law.

Will email anyhow

Cheers for now
Matt Graham

Gee Larry if you had the time to make your way to my place 2 hours Nth East of Melb for a couple of days I could show you a few local animals including sambar deer. But time is a factor if you are here on business.

Larry,
It's Australian tradition to 'fake a sickie' and take up offers like this. Get yourself into the hills! Before the fires went through ... you could be hunting Sambar within 60min of the Melbourne CBD. You'd be mad not to take gryphon up on the offer ... you might just find a bloody good reason to return soon as well. Wink
Cheers...

Spoke to Larry on the phone last night. Larry did know he couldnt rifle hunt down there on such short notice but was more looking to meet-up with any AR members close to Melb. while he was there.

Cheers
Matt

Done Larry BTW heres a sambar hind I rolled over only last night at 5.28 PM precisely!
She is a maiden hind and fat as a seal and thus eminently desirable as a venison animal.

I had actually gone into this spot to take a velvet spikey that I had seen frigging around with a couple of stags but walked into her and as I wanted meat only took the crack as she faced me,bullet entered the neck 10 inches under her lower jaw as seen in the pic.
