Just wondering if any of you fellas are going to this year`s one in two weekends time or if you have been to past ones.

I am thinking of going as I have never been to one and it sounds interesting.

Any comments on these shows?

I went to one on Penrith years ago, wasn't bad, some good taxidermy. Had a bloke there with a bloody big Great Dane. He was trying to sell his line as pig dogs. If people got to near he said "Watch it mate, he can be a bit snappy". When he wasn't looking, this big boofheaded dog came over for a good old scratch You have to worry about some people sometimes What made me shake my head in wonder was the redneck crowd. Guys walking around in full or part camo.HAHA now I'm all for camo out hunting but jeans and a jumper will do for street cloths

I always go to the SCI shows and I'll be there at this one, too, so if you make it come and say hello. I will be easy to find as I will be working on the Granite Arms stand where we will be exhibiting Merkel, Steyr, Voere, Swarovski, etc, etc, and the like!

MLG,

I look forward to seeing you there and maybe we can tell a few lies over a beer or two.

Voere make a number of models of rifle, but we will have examples of the Model 2155 and 2165 at the show. The 2155 is a classic M98 rifle and closely resembles the original Type B Mauser. The 2165 is also based on the M98 but with a streamlined bolt shroud, tang mounted safety and very stylish woodwork. Both are available in a large range of American and European calibres and you can also select either a straddle floorplate or a detachable box magazine. I like them very, very much - one of the 2165s in 9.3x64 will be taking up residence in my gun safe soon!

Voere also make, as an accessory, a safety bolt shroud that allows you to de-cock and re-cock your Voere 2155, which has to be one of the safest ways to carry your rifle. You can either order you Voere fitted with one or retrofit it later. These shrouds can also be fitted to any other M98 and they also make one for the Remington 700.

Oh, and the Voeres are not expensive (unlike many other European arms) and they are in a similar price bracket to many American firearms.
