Anybody know of an Aussie GS who has done this with a CZ 527 over here? To be honest, I love the CZ 527 and the older BRNOs, but the magazine is a bit ... um ... crap. -- Promise me, when I die, don't let my wife sell my guns for what I told I her I paid for them.

Not a GS but did my own using the same tutorial in the link I determined my own mag depth to facilitate minimised metal removal from the front of the trigger guard & the mag bottom is not noticed. Warning: attempting to end up with a completely flush mag bottom is a lot of work as it requires extensive modification to the trigger guard & mag release. Slightly outside flush is nice & neat , hardly felt in the hand & requires minimal modification of the rifle itself. Any competent GS could do the job quickly given the tutorial link if DIY is not your scene. My 527 was a 222 rebuilt from new to 20Vartag ..........the shorter cases & smaller dia neck/projectile are not a problem in the mag. 3+1 is an easy fit 4 can be squeezed , but I have not needed the extra ( so far).

Thanks to all for the answers. I sent my link to my LGS and the bossman there says he can't see why his resident smith can't do it, but he will consult him,and get back to me before just going ahead. Looking at those prices makes me realise just how horrible the "Australia Tax" over here is .... -- Promise me, when I die, don't let my wife sell my guns for what I told I her I paid for them.
