Lucky you, I'm waiting in great anticipation for the first weekend in May which is the NZ wide opening of our 3 month gamebird season, the traditional duck shooting opening weekend for us.

I travel 6 hours to South Canterbury where my two sons live and where we shoot a big irrigation pond, almost a mini lake really. Just bought a slab of 70mm Fasteel #2 and hopefully we will put a good quantity of them downrange through our semis over the weekend. Lots of mallards, paradise ducks and often Canadian geese come in or over too. Big bag limits on ducks and no limit on geese just gotta keep the ammo flowing and hit the buggers.

It is reported by our Fish and Game people that we have had a boomer breeding season for ducks NZ wide so they are expecting some very big tallies to be taken. A lot of hunters shoot around the South Canterbury area where we shoot and opening morning sounds like the start of WW3. Great shooting and fun.

Great video especially with the pointer in picture.

Good to hear. Might have some more vids with dogs in it this week. Was a bit too hot last week and we have to watch out gor snakes.
