End of day 2 & India look like taking a big lead. pity Tendulkar got out in the last over of the day.

I guess the series will go to india 2 - 0.

Ponting will retire at the end of the series.

After todays play i think us auusies are screwed. Only ahead by some 240 odd runs with two batters left and two days to play. Unless India lets about four wickets go cheap when they get in to bat we aren't going to win this one Frowner

well I'll be damned! the indians have fallen apart and looks like the aussie have it in the bag. I bet the indian side are kicking themselves for not having the third umpire as hussey was out three times! if they could have challenged it might be very different......eat shit that will teach you dancing

I'll bet Ricky was gladder than any commentator or spectator too......lots of breath was held as he dived for the line on the single that brought up his 100.

Pup has his eye in in this innings too, a great performance from him.

It will be interesting what the pitch does in the remainder of the Test. A tough day for India & it might get tougher when they get their second 'dig' in the middle.

Last thing I'd like to see is Tendulkar get his 100th international 100 and then a batting collapse Big Grin

The big Aussie scores yesterday were marvellous to hear about - but in another way are a great recommendation for baseball, where the tension and scores are often more like in soccer.

I'm looking forward to Perth now.
Bugger about Pattinson and Cummings I was having a Lillie - Thomo flashback for a while.
I hope they are on deck and in form for the ashes.

who was the poor sod that scored 2 own-goals in the weekend match.
I'm surprised the actor's guild hasn't required soccer players to be carrying a guild card.........

Baseball is more about managerial decisions on estimating pitcher endurance winning games & the tension is more the ball count on the individual batter & his likelihood of connecting, than runs.......if you are watching it for the runs , it is typically a long time between drinks........and you might miss the whole score if you go get one.

lots of similarities in the bowler/pitcher tactics in their delivery strategies tho.

With apologies to Weathered, Denis: I would prefer if you stayed out of my quotes. Smiler

There is plenty of BS in baseball and the gloves mean any flyball landing in the field is expected to be caught, but at least they can play two games a night and I stay awake to watch it. My son's junior level was even better to watch because the 'certainties' were hardly there at all.

I find no problem with baseball's low scoring; it means most of the time the game can go either way. Test cricket outcomes (or at least a draw) can often be seen days ahead. And if cricket once had the high moral ground over soccer and baseball, recent subcontinental gambling scandals have graded that hill down.

But anyway, sitting down to watch other people play anything is a second-rate way to spend recreational time - I'd rather go hunting.

Bad luck Naki.
Johnfox got it right........He He.

all over bar the shouting now :-
Oz 3 test wins - India nil
one more in the series for a Oz whitewash or a consolation prize for India.

India is very hard to beat at home........but they don't travel well.

WHITEWASH

Oz 4 test wins- India NIL

only the last test made it to the 5th day & only then for an hour or so.
indis is a good team & has some great players , but they don't travel very well , very often.

India never extended the Aussies in any test.
Its nice to win , but the test series was no real measure of where Oz cricket is at.

Looks like we are playing a test series in India next year.............they will be very tough to beat on their home grounds........they always are.

Now for the 1-day series & a bit of slash & bash in a couple of 20-20 games.

International 20-20 last night
Oz vs India

Oz won by 30 something runs.
India batting just didn't handle the conditions very well again ( wet pitch, soft slippery outfield ).

NZ ladies did well in the preliminary match beating Oz ladies by 3 runs in a rain interrupted game.

India won last night's 20-20 match.
very good performance in the field by India, poor batting by Oz.

Naki might have a bit more incentive to try cricket commentating again, now.....He He He.

looking better for a very competitive one-day series to come.

Hi guys! No I was not hiding! I have been working out of town for a few weeks and back home for the weekends.

Terrible show alright. Great series for Michael, Clarke & Hilfenhause. Ponting is back in form after so long. Siddle & Pattinson were good too.

Good T20 game last night.

Let us see how the young guys do in the 50 over games.

Sachin currently has the "ponting" affliction at the moment ( as all batsmen do from time to time).
He is overdue for a return to form & whoever the other team is had better watch out when he gets back on song........he will lift the rest of his team's batting.

Ponting took a ripper catch from Sachin & India went down in the first one-dayer by an embarrassing number of runs , especially as they had the tactical advantage of batting second with a rain shortened first session by the Aussies.

India restricted the Aussie batting in the 15 overs before he rain , but Aussies got on top of them with the bat in the shortened 16 overs after the rain delay & India never really got into the game with the bat themselves.
Disappointing game really, the result was pretty certain well before India was halfway thru their batting session........nobody was on the edge of their seats watching a close fought tussle to the last over/ball.

At last we had nail biting finish to an Oz-india game this series.
Oz went down to India in yesterday's one-day game with 2-balls left.
Great game.
What we have been waiting for from India in this tour.

2 close one-day games in a row for the Aussies.
1 win , 1 loss...........tense cricket in the last overs.
