Hello Woodjack

Large numbers of the Swedish 96's were made available here, combine that with the fact that the 6.5x55 with either 120 or 140 gn projectiles will comfortably drop any NZ game animal . . . its been hugely popular here.

At least 25 years ago (before the Swedes arrived) I imported a Heym SR20 in 6.5x55, and enjoyed it very much, although the rifle never shot as well as I would have liked. I took a lot of game with it, including my most memorable trophies.

I sold it after about 10 years, and just recently saw the exact same rifle back on the rack in the shop I sold it too for about double what I originally paid for it . . . thats life eh??.

Cheers - Foster
