I thought this deserved it's own thread!!!

Harry Graham's Hunt Report - edited by Dad.

The day the last two clients left the hunting season was almost over but Matt (Dad) did not know that there was one last client on his hands; his son. He decided to take me out to a place, a bait station called ‘The Horses’. He spent a few minutes to help me see where I should hit him - I wanted to do a head shot but Dad said I had to hit him in the heart. I got into my green shirt and camo shorts, got in the car and drove to The Horses. I was starting to get nervous. A few minutes later I was up in a creaky tree stand with a 308 on my knees, waiting for a pig to come along to meet his doom. Luckily one did come along. I heard a branch snap and then out from the scrub came a huge pig, coming to the bait from a nice swim in the waterhole nearby. I was really nervous, I had butterflies and I said holy-shit in my head (maybe something a little bit worse than that).

When he got to the bait, I waited a second to get him in my sights. Just when I got him in the cross hair he turned in the other direction, so Dad told me to shoot him through the back - so I did. He jumped up in the air and landed on his front legs, finding that he couldn’t use his back legs. He turned around as I reloaded the rifle and then I quickly shot him through the chest. He fell to the ground and started to twitch. I handed Dad the gun and slowly got down from my deadly perch. I went over to the pig with a grin on my face because I had shot my first game animal – which was a huge pig. I was stoked - I honestly thought my first animal was going to be a rabbit!! We couldn’t get a photo because I had kicked Dad’s camera off the edge of the tree-stand. We dragged him into position for the photo, the next day with Dad’s phone. Driving back to camp I was happy as hell but my heart was still beating so fast.

Well done Harry
Thats a mighty big 'bunny'.
A fine start to what I'm sure will be a long & illustrious hunting career.

sounds like your first 'guiding' paypacket will have a small deduction in it to buy dad another camera.

misadventures do sometimes happen in the excitement of the moment.

Looking forward to seeing the next installment in your 'trophy' collection.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"
